Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year everybody!! I hope you all managed to have a great time over the christmas and new years period!! Being in England is a much nicer time for christmas than Australia. Sure I don't get the chance to play cricket on the beach [which I didn't anyway] nor have a barbeque for lunch [nor that either] but it's nice and cold and it feels more like christmas!
For the first time in four years I had all my family together at the one dinner table for christmas. It was amazing. We were a pretty well behaved bunch as well. No real arguements, the occasional snap back between the two chief cooks of mum and my sister but hey, all in all, it was pretty mild.
We were joined by an old school/uni friend, Luke who had just come spending several weeks in Canada then Cube. I suspect the climate was a little different to what he adjusted to and that he was bitterly disapointed with his first chance of getting back under a democratic shower. Our shower at least, as the best it can do at the moment is swing between f*cking freezing and f*cking hot. There is an inbetween of kinda tepid but isn't the bees knees at the moment.
An old family friend Ben also joined us. He's a top bloke who is living in london as a lawyer. Always a handy kind of guy to know. I don't think I've ever seen him so animated as to when Singing in the Rain came on tele, christmas afternoon. He was singing away just as much as mum and Dany were.
The food for christmas was, as always, exceptional. Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for breakfast with a couple of glasses of Kia Royale. Lunch was a 14 pound turkey, a foot of pork loin with a mound of roast veges, yorkshire puds and some token greens [no NO brussel sprouts].
Dinner was pretty much the same just colder served while watching the christmas special of Doctor Who. It was all pretty much happy days.
It's great being with the family again. There' splenty to catch up on.
I'll try and be good this year with blogs, but no promises.
